After School Middle School Program
Fall Programming will begin Monday, August 27th at 3 pm.
Youth N.O.W.’s no-cost middle school program balances individual student choice and structure during after school hours. Depending on their chosen schedule, students complete a learning center hour where they will complete homework and an hour of enrichment or recreation. Their schedule changes depending on the days and times that they attend and which enrichment’s are offered.
Enrichment’s may include any of the following activities depending on availability: Nutrition, Art, Cooking, Girls Club, as well as many others depending on volunteer expertise and funding. Students who are not enrolled in an enrichment course will be placed in Recreation. Our Middle School student center is a free after school program which allows for all participants to expand their knowledge through enrichment and recreation while also having a scheduled time to complete homework.
Families who seek individualized academic support on a consistent and ongoing basis may request personal tutoring. The student and parent/guardian will meet with the site supervisor and/or Learning Center Coordinator in an effort to come up with an agreement of services and sign a tutoring contract. The tutoring contract represents the commitment of the student, tutor and staff of the Learning Center to the weekly tutoring sessions.
